Olive Oilers Capture 4th St Helena Bocce Ball Title
Top seed Olive Oilers faced off against second seed Shatto
Monteleone in the St Helena Bocce Ball finals in Crane Park
on Saturday September 7th. Shatto Monteleone jumped out to a
8 to 3 lead in game one only to have the Oilers battle back
to make the game 11-10. Shatto Monteleone in an attempt to
close out the Oilers had a blast shot go bad causing the
Pallino to bounce away from their own balls allowing the
Olive Oilers an easy two point roll to win 12-11.
In game two Monteleone jumped out to a 6-3 lead but again
the Oilers battled back to take a 10-8 advantage into the
final frame. The come back was highlighted by a spectular
shot by Ray Particelli turning one Monteleone point into
three for the Olive Oilers. In the last frame Kevin Grubbs
rolled the final shot within two feet for the two game
sweep.

In the consolation division the Sharpshooters got
by the Grapestompers 12-9 to take the
title.
In the championship division the Number
Crunchers
beat the Big Wheels to take the
third spot.
