Western Sector players
won fifteen medals at the 2006 National Championships. Congratulations to
John Ross, Roy Ramaciotti, Cameron Wolfe, and Jeff Wolfe for placing second in
Open Rules A Division, JoAnn Jacobs and Andrea Ross for winning silver medals
in Open Rules B Division, Romano Lotti, Ron Jacobs, Norman Freschet, and Rick
Wagstaff for placing second in Punto, Raffa, Volo, A Division, Teresa Wagstaff,
JoAnn Jacobs, and Andrea Ross for winning silver medals in Punto, Raffa, Volo
“B” Division, and Andrea Ross for winning the gold medal in Women’s Raffa
Shooting, and John Dine placing third in Men’s Raffa Shooting.
The North American Championships between the United States and Canada will be hosted by the new Campo di Bocce in Livermore, CA and the Western Sector in October. Three men teams qualified for these championships at the National Championships at St. Louis by placing first through third. The final U. S. team will be from the Western Sector. A qualifying tournament will be held at Campo di Bocce in Los Gatos on September 16, 2006 to determine who the players will be on this team. The tournament will be singles Punto, Raffa, Volo and the top four players will qualify.
